Just like Safire, here is my getting to know me post!

  1. Who is your hero?
    • I would have to say it’s a toss-up between Mathew “MatPat” Patrick, and Dean Winchester from Supernatural.
  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
    • I don’t actually know anymore. There was a time I wanted to live in the middle of London, England. Then I wanted to live literally anywhere in Canada. Part of me likes the idea of Finland too, but really, we just need a house with enough space for everyone to stretch out and be comfy.
  1. What is your biggest fear?
    • This seems like an awfully personal question to me… I am unfortunately a dreadfully depressed individual whose fears generally revolve around very intimate subjects. Safire, however, has told me this question is looking for something like spiders. I hate spiders.
  1. What is your favorite family vacation?
    • Vacation I’ve been on previously, or vacation I want to go on? That’s a very important distinction to make. My favorite vacation I’ve been on was when we went camping in Virginia when I was like 7 or 8, and my twin (cousin who’s 3 months younger than me) and I invented Rock Chess with the polished rocks you get at any souvenir shop. The vacation I want to go on now is taking the kids all to Philadelphia and showing them the amusement park my father always took my sister and me to, and the aquarium, and the zoo we used to go to when I was a kid.
  1. What would you change about yourself if you could?
    • I don’t know if I’d honestly change myself, I mean, no I’m not perfect, there are things I’m working on with myself to be a better person/parent/partner. But I’d honestly rather go back in time and make different decisions.
  1. What really makes you angry?
    • I am not at liberty to answer this one because all that comes to mind are specific people and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings…
  1. What motivates you to work hard?
    • Not much if I’m being honest…
  1. What is your favorite thing about your career?
    • I never have to get fully dressed unless I leave the house, one benefit to being a stay-at-home mom.
  1. What is your biggest complaint about your job?
    • These kids seem to NEVER get along.
  1. What is your proudest accomplishment?
    • I’ve lived this long?
  1. What is your child’s proudest accomplishment?
    • Pooping in the potty?
  1. What is your favorite book to read?
    • Like, to re-read all the time? None, I can honestly only read books once, otherwise I get bored because I already know what happens. Ok, that’s not completely true I guess, I’ll re-read certain books every couple years when the details get hazy in my head, like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. I’ve been meaning to read Percy Jackson again.
  1. What makes you laugh the most?
    • My children, specifically when they swear or start dancing with no music.
  1. What was the last movie you went to? What did you think?
    • Aquaman 2, I like it for the most part, but I’m bummed that Amber Heard was still in it. Her role was reduced as much as made sense for the story, but it makes it bittersweet to me.
  1. What did you want to be when you were small?
    • First was a paleontologist when I was 6, then by 9 I wanted to be a veterinarian until I learned how many dissections I’d need to do in school. As a teenager I wanted to do video game design, but decided not to because coding was slowly eating my soul. Then I wanted to be an interpreter for however many languages I could feasibly learn. None of that ever went anywhere…
  1. What does your child want to be when he/she grows up?
    • Uh… I know the 10-year-old wants to be a YouTuber, or at least he used to… the 5-year-old used to want to be a truck/school bus driver… the other 3 have never mentioned anything yet to my knowledge.
  1. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
    • Is this like a bucket list question? Because if it is I don’t think I can answer this here. If it’s not a bucket list thing… I guess 24 hours to just sit in a quiet house with no screaming kids would be nice.
  1. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?
    • I don’t really like to watch sports, but I’ve always loved playing tennis.
  1. Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?
    • I mean… none? I never mastered riding a bike, horses smell my fear and anxiety, and I hate driving with a passion.
  1. What would you sing at Karaoke night?
    • I don’t listen to main stream music, I wouldn’t be able to sing any of it probably.
  1. What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?
    • Q 104, that’s the only station I actually know.
  1. Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?
    • That entirely depends. Do I get a reward depending on which one I choose? And if I do what is the reward exactly? I’ll do pretty much anything to get intimate time. But I’m most likely to vacuum.
  1. If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
    • Can I have help with all of it? That’d be ideal, but I suppose if I only got one it would definitely be cleaning.
  1. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    • Eggs. Omelet form or scrambled. I love eggs.
  1. Who is your favorite author?
    • I don’t really have one. I look more for a very specific genre than who wrote something.
  1. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?
    • I’ve had many. From family and friends alike. My most common one is “Bitch” these days.
  1. Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?
    • I don’t dislike them, I just don’t like knowing there’s a surprise coming. Surprise me all you want, just don’t let me know it exists until you’re ready to give it to me.
  1. In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read?
    • In all honesty I’d rather get high and listen to some good music after a long day. But out of those I suppose watching a movie is the most mindless.
  1. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?
    • That entirely depends on what time of year it is. If it’s cold here I’d rather go to Hawaii, but if it’s hot I’d rather go to Alaska. I’d like to make it to both someday.
  1. Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why?
    • I’d much rather work the perfect job, that would bring contentment to my life in a way simply winning the lottery wouldn’t. The winnings will only go so far, but the perfect job would bring in constant income and give me a sense of accomplishment.
  1. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?
    • I don’t exactly want to be stranded… I’m no good at hunting or foraging for food, and I’m assuming the water is salty, so that’s not gonna be an easy fix… yeah, no, I’ll pass thanks.
  1. If money was no object, what would you do all day?
    • Take care of my kids? Buy them a bunch of shit they want or need.
  1. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
    • I don’t know. There are too many options!
  1. How would your friends describe you?
    • Safire: “Does a pain in the ass count?” Serenity: “Feisty.” Husband: “Beautiful pain in the ass.”
  1. What are your hobbies?
    • I can’t honestly say I have hobbies anymore. I don’t really do much outside of taking care of basic needs of myself and my family.
  1. What is the best gift you have been given?
    • I genuinely have no idea what I would consider the best gift… I guess it would be the love from my family and friends, because let’s face it, it’s a miracle I have that…
  1. What is the worst gift you have received?
    • My first thought is life, but I’ll get yelled at for that, so let’s go with… the furry vest my aunt Lin got me for Christmas one year like ages ago. It was ugly as hell, and I never wore it.
  1. Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
    • I feel naked when I don’t wear my watch.
  1. List two pet peeves.
    • I guess one big one is showing favoritism among the kids, and another one would be irresponsibility with animals.
  1. Where do you see yourself in five years?
    • I guess things will be pretty much the same just hopefully in a bigger house with all the kids in school.
  1. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
    • Let’s see… I have my flip flops, my flats, my boots… I do have a shotty pair of tennis shoes, I think I still have the super cool but also uncomfortable lace up sandals… so 5?
  1. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
    • Uh, earth bending? Does that count as a super power?
  1. What would you do if you won the lottery?
    • Buy a bigger house then go from there. If I had enough, I’d pay off my sister and my parents trailers. Maybe a new car or two. We need to massively renovate the house we’re in to rent or sell it. New furniture would be nice too.
  1. What form of public transportation do you prefer? (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc.)
    • Uh, none, public transportation gives me horrendous anxiety, but boats are usually always fun, I guess.
  1. What’s your favorite zoo animal?
    • Tigers, bonus points if they’re white bengals.
  1. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be?
    • There’s too much I’d want to change. So many bad decisions I wish I could fix…
  1. If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
    • I have always wished my husband could have met my grandfather, so those two plus my husband’s own grandfather who I know he misses terribly.
  1. How many pillows do you sleep with?
    • Currently? Like one, maybe two if I’m lucky. I used to sleep with like 5 or 6 around me.
  1. What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep (and why)?
    • I do believe I’ve made it almost two days without sleep… I don’t remember why. Chances are it was either just because I could, or it was during a time I worked third shift with a child or two at home waiting for me.
  1. What’s the tallest building you’ve been to the top in?
    • I’ve gone to the top floor of a hospital in Cleveland before. I’ve also gone to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
  1. Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence?
    • I’m already pretty dumb, so there’s not much to trade on that capacity, and I honestly don’t think I have any looks to trade either…
  1. How often do you buy clothes?
    • Well, recently it’s been pretty often, lots of thrifting going right now. But in the past, I’ve refused to even spend the money to replace old underwear because I didn’t feel the potential financial strain was worth it.
  1. Have you ever had a secret admirer?
    • Not that I’ve been told about. Isn’t that the meaning of the “secret” part?
  1. What’s your favorite holiday?
    • It’s a tie between Halloween and Christmas.
  1. What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
    • I don’t know, everything that comes to mind is inappropriate, and Safire will yell at me for posting.
  1. What was the last thing you recorded on TV?
    • I do remember that day, but I can’t for the LIFE of me remember what it was that I recorded… I was ten… my mom was with me… we were still in the downstairs apartment, in that living room… was it Dragon Ball GT? Or was it… it was at like 9pm… I think it was GT.
  1. What was the last book you read?

    • Mexican, hands down, give me that authentic Hispanic food, I’d eat it all day.
  1. Are you a clean or messy person?
    • I would have to say messy. To the point it creates problems sometimes…
  1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
    • Could I play myself?
  1. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
    • That depends on whether I’m going somewhere or just getting up to care for the children. If I’m going somewhere it takes like 15 to 20 minutes on average. If I’m just getting up to make sure the kids don’t kill each other or themselves then it takes like 2 minutes.
  1. What kitchen appliance do you use every day?
    • Does the fridge count? Cuz I definitely use that every day.
  1. What’s your favorite fast-food chain?
    • That truly depends on what I’m craving, man. Sometimes Taco Bell is my life’s sole sustenance, other times I’m dying for Wendy’s. One occasion all I want is Burger King. Most days I’m willing to eat McDonalds.
  1. What’s your favorite family recipe?
    • My grandma’s overnight buns. Those are to die for.
  1. Do you love or hate rollercoasters?
    • Love them. I ride all the ones I can. I ride most rides honestly.
  1. What’s your favorite family tradition?
    • We really haven’t kept/made any. My parents have some, but we’ve really never continued anything ourselves.
  1. What is your favorite childhood memory?
    • My favorite? Damn I don’t know. Probably the time Serenity and I buried each other in sand, and we tracked all through my bathroom and we kept finding more sand in different crevices for weeks afterwards.
  1. What’s your favorite movie?
    • I don’t think I have one anymore. All my past favorites I’ve watched so much I can’t stand them anymore. It’s quite unfortunate.
  1. How old were you when you learned Santa wasn’t real? How did you find out?
    • I was never expressly told by anyone, but over the years my parents just kind of dropped the pretense.
  1. Is your glass half full or half empty?
    • My glass is fully empty, no half about it.
  1. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of love?

  1. Have you ever had a surprise party? (that was an actual surprise)
    • Does a surprise baby shower count? I’ve had that once before.
  1. Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous?
    • I dunno, probably.
  1. What do you do to keep fit?
    • Uhhh… I don’t…
  1. Does your family have a “motto” – spoken or unspoken?
    • If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. Or was it don’t do to others what you don’t want them to do to you?
  1. If you were ruler of your own country what would be the first law you would introduce?
