Browsing through TikTok has shown me a plethora of different things I’d never heard of in witchcraft. One of those things is veiling.

Veiling is more or less a type of protection. You put your intention in the scarf, or whatever you’re using, and place it on your head to protect your energy as a whole, and the crown chakra specifically. This is a very handy practice for empaths, because they can use the veil to protect them from other people’s emotions influencing them.

Anything could be used, a scarf, a hat. I have a few bandanas I plan to start using to periodically veil. Make sure to cleanse whatever you choose, be it a smoke cleansing, selenite, a chant, whatever method you use. You can also add sigils to your veil of choice. Some will draw it with pens or markers, others just draw it with their finger, if you’re ambitious enough you could embroider your sigils. You can also anoint it with oils, herbs, and crystals. Whether to help cleanse, set intent, or add intent, veiling is just a type of protection spell.  When you’re done with all that fold intent into your veil, concentrate on your intentions, and let your energy into the fabric. Then put it on your head.

It’s easy, effective from what people have said, and it’s something I didn’t know about till recently. I plan to add veiling into my practice at least occasionally. I’m hoping maybe it could help with my depression, and I am pretty empathetic.

Do any of you veil? Know anyone who does? Do you think you’ll try it now if you hadn’t heard of it before?

Hi, I’m SapphireFae

Nice to meet you, I’m Sapphire! I’ve been a practicing witch for a decade now. My path brings me closest to the Norse pantheon of deities, most especially Lady Freyja. Tarot is my calling as a witch, and I also dabble in spell bottles. I’m in a happy polyamorous relationship with Safire, Serenity, and one other. We work together to raise our 5 children, and take care of a number of beloved pets.
