Let’s talk about “Energy Manipulation”. Energy manipulation can be a big part of working magic, you can use it to help with healing, creating a bubble around yourself for protection, or purifying an object. No matter the reason you plan to use it, it is a valuable skill for anyone practicing to know.
So, what is energy?
Energy is something that all living things, as well as most non-living things give off. It is the essence of everything really, especially when you look at things from a scientific aspect, matter and energy are the basis of most things. From a magical perspective, energy is like the building blocks of magic, that you can draw upon to craft whatever spell or ritual you are trying to work. Generally speaking, the energy you use for magic is not tangible. And most of the time, energy is described as feeling like vibration and using energy is learning how to match your vibrations to the energy around you.
For me personally, I can feel energy, but a lot of the time it is mentally knowing that is there that is the struggle that a lot of people have. One of our friends can feel energy just about as well as she can feel her own skin, me and her would have energy “throwing” games (? Idk what to call them. Lol) when we were in high school. Looking back on it, it probably looked like we lost our shit to everyone else, but it did help me learn to trust in the power we can have. That being said, it’s not always that easy to feel or recognize energy, and you shouldn’t let it discourage your belief and faith in your magic or craft. Just because you can’t feel it, doesn’t mean it’s not there, and it certainly doesn’t mean that it’s not working. Some people aren’t able to feel energy, and it could have a multitude of reasons. Your mental health, physical health, medication, stress, and so much more can affect your comprehension of energies. It doesn’t make what you are doing any less valid.
How do you manipulate energy?
So, like I said, my friend and I, who may or may not be Lady lol, use to practice our energy manipulation by playing catch with energy balls during high school, women’s choir to be exact (I was the teacher’s aide, which was awesome). I would not suggest starting off with this, when you are first starting, getting a ball out of the energy to form is hard enough, throwing it is a whole other thing.
I would recommend the best things to start with is to start practicing feeling the energies around you. One of the simplest ways to do this is to find a tree, sit down in front of it facing the tree and hold your hands roughly an inch away from the tree. Take a deep breath and focus your mind on what you are feeling in your hands. This can also be done with water if you have access to it, or a bonfire, but I would be cautious about this one, you don’t want to accidentally burn yourself. Mainly, once you recognize what the feeling of the energies are, you will be able to feel them off most things.
Once you can really start to recognize the energies, being able to manipulate them will be easier. When I was learning how to manipulate my energy, I read that rubbing your hands together before trying to feel the energies flow between your hands would help, and it really helped me, and it makes sense. Rubbing your hands together will create friction, which is essentially energy. One of the cool things with feeling the energy flow between your hands, is that if you focus on the energy being there, you can feel resistance when you try to close your hands together.
When you have the energy flowing between your hands, you can start to shape it into a ball. Once you get the ball, I would always see how long I could keep it. Please do not get discouraged if you can’t get a ball to form, like everything, it takes practice. Just keep trying and you will get there.
